Hey belladonnafash,
Welcome to the board!! Always cool to have new members!!
Yeah, life is tough... and its not like we can go thru life without getting tempted or having urges!
Its hard one to answer also because its personal. For me.. I know that I have made the decision to save myself till marriage, and I seem to find strength in that.. and not let anything go to far!
You could always just try and avoid letting yourself get into situations where you could be tempted and let yourself go!

Also don't think, 'This is what I want right now!' or, 'It feels so right' but think, 'Will I be happy with the decision I made' after the fact or, 'I will never be able to give this gift to anyone ever again, is this person the one?!'

Have your mind made up beforehand
If you are in the heat of the moment your mind will not be working. Make very sure you have your mind made up before you ever get in a steamy situation. Your body will trump your mind and you will feel horrible later for giving in. The answer is no, and it is automatic. If you start attempting to reason or use logic, when your body is taking over, you will give in. It must be automatic: NO. If he (she) insists on yes, dump him. He has no respect for the most intimate part of you. He is not a keeper.
How do you know if someone loves you enough to make love to you and stay with you? Simple. He marries you. When your date insists that he is worthy, put him to the test: okay then, marry me. This is a time-tested mechanism for weeding out people who are not serious.
I think it is normal to desire sex, at times very strongly. It is how you handle that feeling that shows who you are. It is okay to have passionate sex, but just under certain conditions, which is with a formal lifelong committment (meaning marriage).
These are my opinions.
