Hi PR.
Thank you for creating this board. Please keep it up and promote it. I think there are scattered people out there who are searching for others like ourselves but with no way to find each other.
It is such a relief to know others like myself are out there.

Re: Introduction Thread: Getting to Know Each Other!
Hey guys, my name is Chris, 21 from the UK!
I often feel, being in the environment i'm in, that i'm the only virgin out there.
There is a lot of stigma attached to being a virgin in this modern world... so much so, that I deleted the word virgin when I typed the sentence 2 above this one, and had to rewrite it... i had a relapse for a second, and forgot we're all virgins here!
I look forward to getting to know people. Feel free to message me, i'd love to hear from you! Its great to know that there are like minded people out there, who share the same thinking behind virginity.
Its a sex crazed nation we live in... and sex has lost its true meaning. To them, any hole is a goal... quite literally. Its gone beyond intimacy and love... and people wonder why we have such messed up relationships and broken marriages!

Re: Introduction Thread: Getting to Know Each Other!
Hey Chris,
Its weird I have never noticed the stigma of being a virgin... most of my friends, virgin or not... know my status... maybe I have made them realise its something important to me and somehow, for some reason, they respect that in me!
You're totally spot on hey! The reasons for most of the broken marriages out there is based on the promiscuous lives most people lead. It damages there abilities to remain in a stable marriage, dedicated to one person!

Hello
Hello Yvette.
Virginia is an appropriate place to be from
. Might you have lived somewhere else? As far as I can discern, your English does not seem to be of the Virginia variety.
I'm a little surprised you have not had any problems with your friends. What kind of school do you go to?
Do you hope to get married and have a family? Is it important that your husband waits for you as well?
I hope I haven't asked too many questions. I completely understand if you don't want to answer anything.
I'm glad this web site exists.
Bye!

Re: Introduction Thread: Getting to Know Each Other!
Lol so how do Virginians normally speak? I'm curious as to what variety of english I'm classified under lol... no, I've never lived anywhere else.
Right now I go to Christopher Newport University. I went to a christian private school from 2nd up till 6th grade, then all public after that. One of my friends did make a valiant effort to get me to drink once... but that's pretty much it.
Yes I hope to get married and have a family... actually hoping to get married by 24 if this were a perfect world... & I would definately love for my husband to also be a virgin, although I'm not very optimistic at this point. I know many nore female than male virgins... you guys are hard to come by, common knowlege I'm sure.
Anyways, feel free to ask me anything you wish, I love answering good questions

English
Hello Yvette.
I think I had ascribed a posting to you that wasn't yours. It was the other one that had a non-Virginian variety of English.
I am rather sensitive to language since I studied it at UMCP (yes, I went to school near you!) I now work extensively with language and actually own my own business. I guess using my time to read a lot of views has acted as a counterpoint to the typical information many people get today. As far as the sexual aspect goes, I have concluded that I am the only person in my environment who respects the deep emotional conseuences of having sex without formal committment. I see myself as a good catch who hasn't been caught, nor shall I be under the typical conditions women set for their relationships. It is too late for a lot of them to come up to the standards I have always agreed to.
How did you deal with going to a public school and all the pressure to have sex, and make it known? It is hard to believe, although possible, that you really didn't care what everyone else thought and didn't feel something negative (sadness, lonliness, hurt, pressure, unease, ridicule, belittlement, etc.) I am sure you didn't feel certain other emotions such as betrayal, loss and regret.
See ya!

Re: Introduction Thread: Getting to Know Each Other!
Actually, as strange as this may sound, a major factor in helping me stay a virgin is that I have never really been pressured to have sex yet. Especially not in school. For one thing, since I'm a girl its pretty acceptable for me to be a virgin, I think the serious pressure is moreso on the guys. Also, I tend to hang out with like-minded people, or very respectful, supportive, & openminded people. People that have known me for just about any length of time are never surprised that I'm a virgin and choose to wait. I guess it's just something about the way I carry myself. It also helps that I've never had a boyfriend either. That part does surprise people lol. I am hoping that will change soon, it is getting pretty lonely & frustrating. But I can't make myself go out with someone just for the sake of going out with them... my standards are a bit higher than most girls apparently. I can definately understand your sentiment of being "a good catch who hasn't been caught". I know I'd be an awesome girlfriend & wife one day... but where is the man that will appreciate that I've waited for him... I have yet to see any good candidates
So I'm curious about some things you said now, what are the typical conditions you have found that women set for their relationships? And what are the standards that they fall short of?
Oh yeah & how old are you if you don't mind my asking
